Refresher course for PBC marketing clerks ends at Assin Foso

Assin Foso (C/R), Sept 18, GNA – The Produce Buying Company Limited (PBC), has ended a two-day refresher course for its marketing clerks at Assin Foso in the Central Region.

The over 200 marketing clerks, who participated in the course, were taken through basic accounting, record-keeping and general work practices.

Mr James Kofi Kutsoati, Central Regional Manager of the Company, asked the participants to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to improve their performance.

He said the programme, apart from improving and broadening the knowledge of the participants, was also to make them build good customer relations with the farmers.

He said management objectives was always to maintain or increase the company’s market share and continue to lead in the industry, hence the need to organize intermittent training programmes for its marketing clerks.

Mr Kutsoati said the programme was designed such that it would empower the clerks to educate farmers on good fermentation and drying to enable them to produce high quality beans for the company.

He asked the participants to apply the knowledge they have acquired to confront the emerging trend in the cocoa industry and hold on to the best practices.

The Twifo Praso and Agona Swedru zones have earlier had their training.
