RCC fetes senior citizens on Republic Day

Sunyani, July 1, GNA – The Brong Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council on Thursday feted a cross section of senior citizens at the Residency to mark the nation’s 44th Republic Day celebration.

In attendance were Mr. Kwadwo Adjei-Darko, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, his deputy, Mr. Yaw Adjei-Duffour and Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri, Omanhene of Sunyani Traditional Area.

The senior citizens, who included chiefs, were treated to drinks and food amidst music provided by Action Six, the regional police band. Nana Seinti acknowledged the immense and invaluable services rendered by the senior citizens to the nation and urged them to continue to avail their rich knowledge and experiences to the younger generation to advance national development.

A number of the senior citizens who addressed the gathering urged the government to continue with its sterling performance so far for an improvement in the lives of Ghanaians and not to be distracted by the “wayward utterances” of its opponents.

The RCC organized a special raffle and the winners were presented with tee shirts.
