Rawlings to celebrate 31st December Revolution today

Former President Jerry John Rawlings will be the Guest of Honour at the wreath laying ceremony to mark the 31st anniversary of the31st December Revolution in Accra today.

The former President in 1981 led the Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC), which overthrew the constitutionally elected People’s National Party (PNC) government, headed by President Dr. Hilla Limann.

The event, which will be attended by Cadres of the 31st December Revolution, will be held at the Revolutionary Square, Flagstaff House, where Mr Rawlings will light the perpetual flame.

Colleagues, sympathisers and supporters of the 31st December Revolution are also expected to join hands in remembering those who laid down their lives in defence of the true spirit of the revolution.
