Ramseyer Centre presents computer to Abetifi police

Abetifi(E/R),Dec.19, GNA – Management of the Ramseyer Training Centre(RTC), a Presbyterian Church of Ghana Centre for the training of pastors and catechists at Abetifi, on Saturday, presented a computer and printer worth seven million cedis to the Abetifi police.

Nana Oforiwaa Koranteng, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Centre who presented the computer said the gesture was part of its social responsibility to help solve some of the numerous problems facing the Police Service in the area to improve on their efficiency.

She urged the police authorities to ensure effective use of the computer to reduce crime wave in the area for the people and institutions such as the Presbyterian University College to operate in peaceful atmosphere.

Nana Koranteng advised the police to create congenial atmosphere and co-operate with the public for their assistance in efforts to clamp down on activities of armed robbers in the area.

Reverend Amfo Akonuh, Director of the Centre, commended the police in the town for their regular patrols that had made the RTC continued to offer the necessary co-operation for efficient service.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ben Wonkyi Mpraeso District Police Commander, who received the computer; thanked the RTC for the assistance that would help enhance their operations in the area. He noted that the police faced many problems such as lack of logistics and residential accommodation that were affecting their effective operation and appealed to individuals and civil society groups within Kwahu to emulate the Centre. 19 Dec.05
