Rainstorm Renders Tutors Homeless.

Bolgatanga, April 5, GNA- The rainstorm that hit Bolgatanga and its environs last week ripped off the roofs of five masters’ bungalows at the Bolgatanga Secondary School (Big Boss), displacing the affected tutors and their families.

They are currently putting up in their garages as a temporary measure. Other property destroyed include foodstuff, mattresses, clothing and other personal effects.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr. Francis Avonsige, who briefed the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Rockson Bukari, and the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. John Tiah, during a visit to the school said the bungalows were awarded on contract to Messrs Namlebna Ventures and Nchor Enterprise but they failed to complete the work.

Mr. Avonsige appealed to the Assembly to, as a matter of urgency, compel the contractors to complete work quickly enough to house the victims. He added that the tutors are aggrieved and that the situation is retarding academic work.

The Chief Executive and the MP urged the victims to exercise restraint while they meet the contractors to address the issue.
