Rainstorm causes blackout in Yendi

The Yendi Municipality has been without electricity following the rainstorm that hit the area, Thursday evening.

Coupled with the damaged caused to properties, residents there are worried because the situation is affecting socio-economic activities.

The Assemblyman for Kumfong, Musah Aminu electoral area pleaded with the Volta River Authority to fix the problem.

In a related development, the Gushegu District Assembly has received the first consignment of relief items for onward distribution to victims of a similar rainstorm.

District Chief Executive for Gushegu, Alhaji Alhassan Fuseini, commended the National Disaster Mnagment Organisation (NADMO) headquarters for the timely intervention but appealed for more support.
