Rabito Clinic, Ghana’s premier renowned dermatology and general healthcare provider, launched its 40th anniversary celebration, in Accra on the theme: “40 Years of Quality and Affordable Healthcare:”
Mr Banguu Delle, General Manager of the clinic said programmes for the anniversary includes: blood donation exercise on July 1, open and free skin screening on August 1, which would be carried out in all Rabito branches.
On October 30 there will be an outreach programme where some children’s homes would be visited by the staff of the clinic, November 30 there will be an educative programme dubbed: “What do you know,” which will be aired on Ghana Television and radio Ghana.
“There will also be the unveiling of the rebranding initiatives of Rabito and corporate luncheon with Rabito key stakeholders,” he said. Mr Delle added that in January 2015, there would be the launch of the clinic’s anniversary cloth, apparel and other paraphernalia and a media road show from February to March.
There will be a clean-up exercise in partnership with Zoomlion, a sanitation management organisation in April, a health walk in May, which will be climaxed with a grand banquet gala dinner and awards night for staff as well as other stakeholders on July 24.
“The year-long celebrations will be climaxed with a thanksgiving mass on July 26h at the Christ the King Church”, Mr Delle said. Professor Edmund N. Delle, Chief Physician and Consultant Dermatologist, Rabito Clinic, advised cosmetologists and beauticians to seek guidance and education from dermatologists on chemicals and other products they use for their clients.
He said most of the creams used by cosmetologists and beauticians contain strong chemicals like mercury and lead which are harmful to the skin and kidney. “Bleaching substances damages the skin and cancer of the skin is the consequence”, Prof Delle said.
He, however, called for the incorporation of traditional products for the treatment of skin diseases. “I am actually a defender of traditional medicine, so I will be happy to partner with my alike to help the country and cut down the cost of importation of drugs,” he said.
