Quainoo-Arthur elected Nfantseman DCE

Saltpond (C/R), June 3, GNA – Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, the President’s nominee was on Friday elected by 64 vote to one against as the Nfantseman District Chief Executive.

A total of 65 members cast their votes in the election conducted and supervised by Mr A. Mensah, Nfantseman District Electoral Officer and his staff.

Mr Kwaku Aboagye, District Magistrate, swore Mr Quainoo-Arthur into office.

In an acceptance speech, Mr Quainoo-Arthur said the single vote against his nomination had encouraged him to work harder to satisfy all shades of opinions in the Assembly.

He called for support from members, chiefs and all citizens to move the nation forward.

Mr Ato Essuman, Member of the Council of State and member of the Assembly commended his colleagues on the peaceful manner in which the election was conducted.

Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Beautification of the Capital City and Member of Parliament for Nfantseman West advised the Assembly members to support the DCE in executing all development programmes aimed at poverty alleviation.
