Puanab Binduri is queen mother of Binduri

Binduri (UE) May 18, GNA – Puanab Amalug, the 55-year old newly installed queen mother of the Binduri Traditional area, on Wednesday said women could only progress in their lives if they remained united and focused on a common purpose. Puanab Amalug, who is known in private life as Salamatu Akugre Azure, dedicated the stool to all women in the area, saying she would use her reign to foster development in the area.
She asked all the women to pray for peace in the Bawku Municipality because it was through such tranquillity that women and children could successfully complete activities they initiate. She thanked the chief, the royal gates and the women for making her installation a successful one. Naaba Akwom I, Chief of the Binduri Traditional Area, said the initiative of installing queen mothers though new in the North was innovative and opened more avenues for women to champion the cause of their compatriots. He asked the women in the area to cooperate and support the queen mother whose presence would facilitate change in the area.
