Programme on uses of Bamboo to be launched

Tarkwa (W/R), July 6, GNA – Wassa Fiase Traditional Council and the Management of the Assin Faso Bamboo Factory will launch a programme to educate the public on the uses of Bamboo to support the Presidential Special Initiative on the grass.

Mr Samuel Abraham, Manager of the factory, who announced this when a delegation from the factory met chiefs in the traditional area at Tarkwa on Monday, urged the people to actively participate in programme to improve on their standard of living.

Mr Abraham who led the delegation, commended Osagyefo Kwamena Enimil, Omanhene of the Traditional Area, for starting the programme and called on banks to assist individuals and groups interested in the programme financially.

The delegation exhibited some products manufactured from bamboo by the factory, which included furniture, toothpicks, mats, cups and saucers.

Meanwhile, the office of the Traditional council has invited people interested in bamboo business to register with the council for the necessary assistance. 6 July 04
