Activities for the 45th Republic Day Anniversary celebrations begins with Christian and Muslim prayers in all mosques and churches from Friday June 24 to Sunday June 26 throughout the country.
A statement by the National Celebrations Planning Committee signed by Mr D. A. Kwapong, Acting Director of the Information Services Department, said the climax of the celebrations would be a state luncheon President John Agyekum Kufuor would host for Senior Citizens on July 1.
Regional Ministers would host similar luncheons in all the regional capitals throughout the country.
The week-long activities for the celebrations include a football match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko on July 1, the statement said, adding, the official celebrations end on Sunday July 10 with a ?What do you know? quiz competition among Senior Citizens.
