Prof. Ocquaye dares Asiedu Nketiah

“I’m daring Asiedu Nketiah to meet us at the Police headquarters within 24hrs, and testify why Bawumia should be interrogated, “Former Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Ocquaye has challenged the General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Asiedu Nketiah.

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the Ghana Police Service to invite for questioning, the running mate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for peddling what they described as “falsehood about Ghana’s voter’s register.”

At a press conference in Accra on Wednesday morning, the General Secretary of the NDC, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, said Dr Bawumia ought to be invited and investigated by the security agencies.

But Speaking on Anopa kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM on Thursday, the NPP Legal luminary said, the NDC General scribe must show commitment in his claims by first lodging a complaint with the Police why Bawumia should be investigated further.

He said he and Bawumia are ready to assist in any investigations should General Mosquito come out boldly on that at the Police headquarters.

He said Ghana’s electoral body could not succeed in getting the commitment of the Togolese officials to assist clear the claim that Togolese nationals infiltrated the Ghanaian register because the approach used by the EC in this regard was questionable.

“The EC didn’t accord respect to the Togolese officials while eliciting such vital document from the Togolese officials. In the first place, you don’t go asking them to give you a whole document just because you suspect their nationals have infiltrated your voters register.”
