Prof Ameyaw Ekumfi Goes To Court Over Result

According to JoyFM, the Minister of Ports, harbours and railways has petitioned a Sunyani Court to compel the electoral commission to recount the ballot cast in the Techiman North constituency.

Professor Christopher Ameyaw Ekumfi, who contested the parliamentary race in the constituency on the ticket of the NPP, was defeated by the NDC candidate but is alleging impropriety at the count of the ballot.

Professor Ameyaw Ekumfi is hoping, through the recount, to overturn the over two thousand votes his main rival Alex Kyeremeh beat him with.

Supporters of the NPP in the constituency also took to the streets yesterday to back the demand of their candidate.
