Prez. Mahama is too liberal on homosexuality- Sammy Awuku

President John Dramani Mahama has been asked not to adopt a laissez-faire attitude towards the subject of homosexuality just because he wants favour or loans from countries that have legalized same sex marriage.

Speaking to the issue as a panelist on Peace FM’s ‘kokrokoo’ programme, Samuel Awuku, a Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked the President not to be liberal as far as the issue is concerned; thinking that if he does not accept homosexuality, the country will be disadvantaged in terms of development.

He indicated that Ghana was not the only African country not supporting the homosexual act, adding; ‘we don’t have to accept everything that comes from the foreign countries.’

“President Mahama should not be too liberal. He is very liberal, extremely liberal and if you don’t stand for anything, you will fall for anything. This government is too liberal with our Ghanaian rules, with our tradition and culture,” he posited.

He said he will never say anywhere that President Mahama is into homosexuality; however, he should stand his ground and insist that it does not become a norm in the country.
