SALE OF MECHANT BANK TO EQUITY FUND, FORTIZ: PUBLIC ACTION AGAINST CORRUPTION AND ABUSE (P.A.A.C.A) WRITES TO GHANA POLICE SERVICE.

Public Action Against Corruption and Abuse (P.A.A.C.A) has officially written to the Ghana Police Service for the upcoming peaceful demonstration on Tuesday, 7th January, 2014. The controversial sale of Merchant Bank to Equity fund, Fortiz, which was sent to Court by Mr. Andrew Awuni seem to be vanishing. 80 members of the Minority in Parliament also filed a motion demanding an immediate investigation into the sale, also landed abruptly in Parliament. Now, SSNIT contributors have no choice than to hit the street and demonstrate until the President adheres to our plea. Below is copy of the letter to the Ghana Police Service.

Dear Sir, REQUEST FOR POLICE ESCORT Public Action Against Corruption and Abuse (P.A.A.C.A) is organizing a peaceful demonstration on Tuesday, 14th January, 2014, at 8: ooam prompt in relation to the sale of Merchant Bank to Equity fund Fortiz. Participants are expected to assemble at Obra Spot near Circle, at 7: ooam. Procession will begin at 8: ooam through the main street towards Accra, through to TUC and the procession is expected to end at Hearts Park at 12:ooam, where members of the public would be addressed. We shall be grateful if you could provide us with police escort. Organizers of the programme have taken cognizance of the Public Order Act and would ensure that protesters comport themselves.
