President John Evans Atta Mills of Ghana left Accra last Saturday night for United States, enroute to Canada for an official visit.
As part of the visit, the President will be holding bilateral talks with Canadian government officials and the private sector of that country with the objective of attracting investment into Ghana. The talks are expected to further enhance the existing co-operation between the governments of Ghana and Canada for the benefit of their citizenry.
Koku Anyidoho, Director of Communications at the Presidency, told newsmen at the airport prior to the President’s departure that President Mills, who will spend about a week in Canada, will also hold talks with firms with interest in Ghana and impress on them the need to consider increasing their investments.
From Canada, President Mills will move to the United States for similar engagements.
The expected outcome of the two-nation trip, Mr Anyidoho said, will enhance the government’s ‘’Better Ghana’’ Agenda.
After the visit to the US, President Mills plans to spend some time with his relatives and associates in the US as part of his two week annual leave.
