President Mahama commends parliament

President John Dramani Mahama on Friday commended Members of Parliament for helping the government of the National Democratic Congress to deliver the “Better Ghana Agenda,” from 2009 to date.

“I congratulate Madam Speaker, Mrs Joyce Bamford-Addo, for conducting affairs of the House with high sense of duty as the first female Speaker…I also thank MPs for helping the government to deliver the Better Ghana Agenda,” he said in the state of the nation address to Parliament, in Accra.

The President said: “I take this task of delivering the state of the nation address with mixed-feelings. Parliament begun with President John Evans Atta Mills, he took office and managed the country in a manner that made the country stand tall,” he said.

President Mahama, whose address was brief, also focused on the economy, agriculture, education, infrastructure, health, energy, and he re-affirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability.
