President expresses concern about record keeping in Ghana

President John Agyekum Kufuor on Thursday expressed concern about the inability to keep records or track of events in the country.

“This nation has not been very good at keeping records or keeping track of what happens, when or where,” he said.

Presenting the State of the Nation Address to Parliament, President Kufuor said government had, therefore, approved proposals for a National Identification System (NIS) for implementation.

He said the aim was for all citizens to have a National Identity Card by the end of next year to smoothen the conduct of everyday business and social life of the Ghanaian.
