Premium collectors of health Insurance end training

Kyebi (E/R), Aug. 21, GNA – A two-day training programme for 108 premium collectors of the East Akim District Health Insurance Scheme ended at Kyebi on Friday.

The participants of the training programme were educated on how to use the registration books of the scheme, recording of the premium collected and support the coding of the district for the smooth implementation of the scheme.

Closing the ceremony, the East Akim District Chief Executive, Mr Emmanuel Victor Asihene urged the premium collectors to see their service as their contribution to the provision of health security to the people in the district.

He said experience with revenue collectors had often been an issue of mistrust and inefficiency but since their remuneration would be based on the amount they collect, he expressed the hope that they would take the work seriously and work hard to make money for themselves and the scheme.

Mr Asihene warned that though he could see high enthusiasm among them, their performance would be closely monitored and those who would fall short of expectations would be replaced.
