Pre-Xmas bazaar opens in Kumasi

Kumasi, Dec.20, GNA — This year’s super X-mas bazaar and trade fair opened at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Friday.

The fair, organised by Driwald Consult, a media and marketing consulting firm in Accra, aims at bringing buyers and sellers together to shop for the Christmas.

Briefing the media at the opening of the fair, Mr Walter Djokoto, Managing Director of the company, said the fair was in support of the government’s effort at promoting trade, especially among small and medium scale enterprises in the country.

He said, it would afford the exhibitors the opportunity to off-load some of their wares during the Christmas season. Mr Djokoto said his firm was in touch with a marketing firm in the USA to promote the sale of African products in that country. He gave the assurance that enough safety measures had been put in place to ensure the security of the exhibitors and the buyers at the fair.

Mr Djokoto warned that, the security agencies would not tolerate acts of indiscipline and immorality on the fair grounds and advised the exhibitors to ensure cleanliness in their stands.
