Porter jailed 15 years for defiling girl, 12

A circuit court at Akim Swedru in the Birim South District has sentenced Isaac Fiakuna, a porter, to 15 years imprisonment for defiling 12-year-old class three pupil.

Fiakuna, 19, alias Paa Yaw, pleaded guilty to the charge while an accomplice, Yaw Agbeshie, also a porter, has absconded..

Police Inspector Kwaku Appiah told the court presided over by Mr Yaw Atta Sampong that on January 22, this year the victim went to sell banana at the Timber Market in Akim Oda..

The prosecution said Fiakuna invited the girl to buy some banana but Agbeshie instead lured her into a wooden structure.

Insp Appiah said Fiakuna entered the structure and locked it and had sex with the girl.

Prosecution said the girl reported the ordeal to her mother.

Insp. Appiah said the girl’s mother reported the case to the Police and the victim was issued with a Police Medical Report Form to attend hospital for examination.

The convict was arrested, while his accomplice absconded
