Poor enrolment at Wamanafo Setch

Wamanafo (Brong Ahafo) 24 March ’99

Poor enrolment is a major factor hindering the development of Wamanafo secondary technical school in the Dormaa district, Mr James Odame-Lartey, headmaster of the school had said. The problem could be largely attributed to the people ‘s lack of interest to educate their children, he noted. Speaking to newsmen at Wamanafo on Tuesday, Mr Odame-Lartey said the school has only 78 students out of which 30 are first year students. He said in spite of efforts by the town’s youth association to raise the standard of education by awarding scholarships to some students, the problem still persists.
