Politicians told to stop beating war drums

Mr Joe Adansi Bonnah, Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Chief Executive, has called on politicians to desist from beating war drums and creating false sense of insecurity in the country.

The blame game must also end to pave way for all Ghanaians to collectively and dispassionately discuss the development challenges facing the nation.

Mr Bonnah was addressing a parade of school children and voluntary groups at the Independence Day celebration at Bibiani.

Thirty five (35) schools and voluntary organizations took part in the parade.

The DCE said Ghana needed consensus building and urged the people to give preference to negotiations over violence.

They should draw useful lessons from the bitter experience of neighbouring Cote d’Ivoire to avoid any political pitfalls as the nation prepared to go to the polls in December.

Anaman Preparatory School came first in the march-past competition in the primary school category, with the Bibiani R/C “A” and Bibiani Newtown primary taking second and third positions respectively.

In the JHS division, Bibiani Holiness emerged winners, followed by Anaman JHS and Bibiani Catholic “B” in that order.

Otoo Educational Complex was first in the SHS category while Kenmark SHS came second and the Bibiani Secondary Technical School, came third.
