Politicians are behind Labour Strikes – NDC Capo

The national organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress has revealed that all the labour agitations, particularly strikes, are instigated by opposition politicians in the country. Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan made the categorical statement on the breakfast show of Rainbow Radio 87.5 fm dubbed FRONTLINE hosted by Kwame Tutu.

The organizer who said it is time for politicians to be bold and disclose the schemes that affect the progress of the nation stated that the many teacher strikes led by a former president of National Association of Graduate Teachers ( NAGRAT) against the Kufuor led New Patriotic Party government had political motivations.

Asked if the strikes were instigated by the then opposition National Democratic Congress, Mr Boateng Gyan retorted, how come immediately after the exit of the Kufuor administration, Kwame Alorvi contested the parliamentary primary of the NDC trying to go to parliament on the ticket of the party.

He said though he doesn’t underrate the intelligence of the Ghanaian workers, he stands by the fact that they have been influenced to tarnish the image of the ruling government. Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan further noted that the NDC knows the leaders of the labour unions, who are loyal to an opposition party.
