Police searching for man who poured acid on ex-girlfriend

The Sekondi police have mounted a search for a 29-year old man, Eric Dadson, for threat of death and pouring acid on his ex-girlfriend.

The Western Regional Crime Officer, Mr. J. K. Abraham, told the GNA on Monday that the suspect threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, Hannah Essuman at Agona Nkwanta in the Ahanta West district.

The police said the victim, Essuman, reported the matter to the Sekondi Office of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit.

The police said the victim decided to break her relationship with Dadson after detecting that he was an armed robber.

The suspect threatened to kill her if she breaks the relationship and therefore, trailed the victim to her house at Agona Nkwanta around 0100 hours on May 25, last month.

He ordered the victim to come out from her room or else he would set the building ablaze.

When the victim came out, Dadson poured acid on her, injuring her severely and bolted after the crime.

She was admitted at the Dixcove Government Hospital for treatment while police investigations are underway to track the suspect.**
