Police retrieve 10 vehicles stolen from GCB

The Takoradi Police have retrieved 10 vehicles and GHS55.750 from Osei Owusu, 29, a securityman, who allegedly stole GHS1,331,776 from the Takoradi market branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB).

Chief Inspector Felix Danku told a Takoradi Circuit Court on Friday that Osei Owusu, a security man working with “Thomas Security”, allegedly used five of the vehicles for commercial businesses and five for his personal use.

The court, presided over by Mr Justice Charles Bamfo Nimako subsequently granted the accused bail in the sum GHS2,000.000, with three sureties to be justified with landed property.

The plea of the accused was not taken and he is to re-appear on Wednesday June 5.

The Prosecutor said the case was still under investigation.
