Kasoa (C/R), June 3, GNA – The Kasoa District Police Command has given a two weeks ultimatum to owners of unauthorized sign boards erected at Kasoa, to remove them or face full prosecution. The District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jordan Quaye gave the ultimatum in a press statement issued in Kasoa and copied to the Ghana News Agency.
DSP Quaye said sign boards have been mounted haphazardly obstructing the view of motorists, a situation that could cause motor accidents. “Anyone who has erected any sign board without the permission or authority of the Highways or the District Assemble should remove it before the middle of June 2009 or it will be forcibly removed by the Police Task Force”.
He said all those who have mounted bill boards, sign posts and direction signs at road junction and intersections, without consulting the Ghana Highways or the Assembly should remove them. The District Police Command has also directed drivers who park at authorized places, especially at the Kasoa Traffic Light area to pick passengers to stop immediately before they are arrested by the police.
