Police officer dies after being pushed from moving car

A driver, Kwesi Nyamekye, 34, has been arrested for killing a police officer,Vincent Adu of Busunya police station at Nkoranza North district in the Brong Ahafo region.

Narrating the event leading to the death of the police officer, Commander Aboagye of the Nkoranza police commander explained that a complainant filed a report against a driver and his accomplices who had stolen his trees to produce charcoal.

He said moments later, the complainant and the late police officer spotted the accused driving his kia truck and beckoned him to stop.

Kwesi Nyamekye pulled up following which the police officer sat in the truck and instructed the driver to move to the police station.

Commander Aboagye added that while they were on their way, the driver and his accomplice pushed the police officer out of the moving car sustaining severe injuries and died shortly on arrival at ST. Teresa’s hospital in Nkoranza.

The driver, upon hearing of the police man’s death, bolted but was arrested later and would soon be arraigned before court.

Meanwhile, the corpse has been deposited at ST.Teresa’s morgue in Nkoranza pending autopsy.
