Police hunting woman for dumping baby into toilet

New Edubiase (Ash), Aug 2, GNA – The Police at New Edubiase are looking for one Adwoa Mensah, a 24-year-old woman, who allegedly dumped her day-old baby into the toilet in the house in which she was staying.

Detective Corporal Francis Awuah told the GNA that at about 22 hours last Friday, the suspect’s co-tenants heard the cry of baby in the toilet. The Police was informed and with the help of other people they removed the baby from the toilet. Cpl Awuah said Adwoa, who already had two children but was divorced, complained constantly to other tenants about her inability to feed another mouth since she did not know the man who made her pregnant.

He said the Police were also looking for one Yaa-Yaa, believed to be Adwoa’s accomplice. Cpl Awuah said the baby was responding to treatment at the New Edubiase Government Hospital and that the nurses had named the baby Kofi Nyamekye.
