Police Grab 4 Fraudsters

The Sunyani police have arrested four persons who were involved in fake currency deals.

The suspects were Robert Kwado Bannie, 30, Kofi Baah Thomas, 24, Dina Ameyaa, 20 and Hager Boakye 23, a hairdresser.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), on August 16 this year, information reached the police that some tricksters had succeeded in duping a man to the tune of ?2 million under the pretext of doubling the amount to ?4 million cash for their victim.

He further said the police on receiving the information, dispatched personnel to arrest the culprits.

According to the PRO, the suspects were brought to the station for further interrogation.

A search was conducted at their homes where they retrieved bundles of white paper cut into the size of two thousand cedis notes contained in the polythene bag under the bed of Hager Boakye.

He added that the money-sized white paper was brought out from the room together with an amount of ?1 million.
