Police denies suspension of promotions

The Ghana Police Service has vehemently denied reports of intentionally suspending the promotion of senior officers.

Senior officers are threatening mayhem over the suspension of their promotions.

A publication in the Chronicle said the officers are displeased with the service’s delay in effecting the promotions.

But Director General of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Rev. Neenye Ampah Panin says the report lacks evidence.

Speaking to XYZ News in an interview, DCOP Rev. Neenye Ampah said the senior officers must pass series of tests before they are promoted.

“It is not true that we are intentionally refusing to promote them and it is also not true that the Police is sitting on a time bomb”.

“We are going by our calendar”.
