Police arrest two over stolen vehicles

Two men are being held by the Kumasi Police over stolen vehicles.

Kwadwo Owusu and Thomas Kwadwo Osei, alias “Lion” are said to have bought cars snatched from their owners by robbers.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwaku Ampofo Duku, Deputy Ashanti Regional Commander, told a media briefing that their arrest followed disclosures made by a robbery suspect.

He said they would be put before court to answer a charge of dishonestly receiving.

ACP Duku, therefore, advised the public to do the necessary checks and verification from the appropriate institutions on vehicles they intended buying.

He said that was important to avoid running into trouble with the law.

He vowed that the Police would go after hardened criminals and their accomplices to bring them to justice.

This assurance comes amid the surge in car robbery incidents in the region and the arrest of three people – Kwaku Owusu, Apraku Adabor and Williams Opoku – believed to be connected to these crimes and recovery of three of the stolen cars.
