Police arrest suspected criminals in Sunyani

The police at Sunyani have started a special exercise to rid the municipality of all criminal as part of security measures to ensure that residents celebrate Christmas in peace. A swoop conducted under the exercise on Wednesday lead to the arrest of ten people suspected to be narcotic drug dealers. Large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana (“wee”) and several wrappers of whitish and brownish substance believe to be cocaine and other drugs were found on them. The Brong Ahafo Regional Crime Officer, Mr Moses Zidah, said at Sunyani that all the suspects are tenants of one house at Sunyani Zongo. He said the police will continue to raid suspected wee bases and dens of criminals to flush out criminal. Mr Zidah said the suspects are under-going screening adding that the exercise will be extended to other towns in the region.
