Police arrest ‘pastor’ for raping and stealing from women

The Mankraso Police Command in the Ashanti region has arrested a self-styled pastor Dacosta Owusu Tawiah, 20 years for raping and stealing from women.

The suspect, who was arrested on Friday, November 10, 2017 presents himself to his innocent female victims as a pastor of “God’s Salvation Church” situated at Anyinasusu, a town before Tepa in the Ahafo Ano North District.

According to the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, ASP Juliana Obeng, the suspect prepares a concoction mixed with Diazepam tablet known as ‘blue-blue’ for them to drink for spiritual cleansing, after which he tells them he has prophecies about them.

A search in Dacosta’s home by the police, found a sum of GH¢150, a Samsung mobile phone, charger and a Bluetooth speaker, all belonging to one of his victims.

The suspect who is currently on remand will re-appear in court on Tuesday November 21, 2017 after he was arraigned earlier on Monday November 13, 2017.

The Command is calling on other victims to assist the Mankraso Police in investigations.
