Police arrest farmer for murder

Abuakwa (Ash), Aug 17, GNA- A 21-year-old farmer, Francis Abugri has been arrested for stabbing an 18-year-old Clement Asare, also a farmer to death at Biemso Number One in the Ahafo-Ano South district of Ashanti.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the incident at Abuakwa on Sunday, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Emmanuel Akonnor, Abuakwa District Police Commander, said at about 2200 hours on July 20, this year, a quarrel ensued between Abugri and Asare and this resulted in a fight.

ASP Akonnor said Abugri stabbed Asare with a knife and he died while being conveyed to the hospital.

He said a report was made to the police and Abugri was arrested. The body of the deceased had been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for autopsy, ASP Akonnor said.
