Kumasi, Dec 31, GNA-The Kumasi police have arrested and placed in custody a 47-year old man, Samuel Gyima, for sodomy.
He was alleged to have sodomized a 10-year old primary three pupil who lives with his aunt at Pankrono, a surburb of Kumasi on Boxing Day. Inspector Yusif Mohammed Tanko, who is in charge of the Ashanti Region Police Public Relations Unit, told the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday that the victim is related to the suspect and lives in the same house with him.
He said on Boxing Day, the suspect sent the boy to buy him cigarettes and when he returned the suspect put him on his laps and sodomized him.
Inspector Tanko said, after the act, the accused warned the victim not to tell anybody otherwise he will kill him. He said the boy later felt pains when he bent down so he informed his aunt about the ordeal he had gone through and she informed the police.
