PNDC days better than multiparty system – Rawlings

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has blamed the current multi-party system for fueling political divisions, animosity and violence in the country.

He said the days of the PNDC, were far better than today because all political interests were under one roof and there was unity.

He added that those days were the most creative and energetic times of the country’s political dispensation.

Former President Rawlings made this assertion when he was speaking at the Delegates Congress of the National Democratic Party, NDP in Accra on Saturday.

Mr. Rawlings also called for peaceful elections this year, adding that, the nation can only be stable if elections are free and fair.
