PNC will give Ghana a new beginning – Mahama

Nungua, Jan. 22, GNA – Dr Edward Nasigrie Mahama, the People’s National Convention (PNC) flag bearer in the 2008 elections, has assured Ghanaians that a PNC- led administration would transform the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.

To this end, he said, the Government of PNC would create employment avenues to help reduce the unemployment problem facing the country.

Dr Mahama was addressing delegates of the Greater Accra Regional branch of the Party at their congress at Nungua at the weekend.

“We will make sure that there is no unemployed graduate in Ghana, moreover, the Youth will not be selling dog chains.”

Dr Mahama commended the executives of the Greater Accra Regional branch of the Party for their sacrifice, zeal, dedication, diligence and hard work which made the congress which was long overdue possible.

The PNC Leader, who is contesting the presidential slot with a 40-year-old entrepreneur, Mr Hassan Ayariga, urged delegates to retain him at their National Delegates Congress in Sunyani.

Dr Edward Gyader, Dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Development Studies and an aspiring National Chairman of the party, regretted that there was no cohesion at the top and therefore called on the party’s hierarchy to close their ranks, adding, “PNC cannot afford to go into the December elections with a divided front.”

He said it was heart warming that most sympathisers of the PNC were ready to vote the party to victory because they were fed up with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He assured members and supporters that when voted for as National Chairman, he would ensure that elements in the Party who were bent on causing its disintegration would be flushed out.

Mr Hassan Ayariga, a presidential aspirant, was of the view that the PNC needed a leadership that would be able to transform the party and dedicate their lives to its cause.

“The PNC needs new faces and those who can sacrifice their lives for the Party to ensure victory in the December polls.”
