Physically Challenged people receive Wheel Chairs

Tepa (Ash), April 3, GNA – The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, has presented 15 wheel chairs to 15 physically challenged people in the Ahafo Ano North District of Ashanti. The presentation was in response to the request made by the Department for additional wheel chairs after last year’s presentation of 15 wheel chairs to the Association.

Making the presentation, the District Co-coordinating Director for Ahafo Ano North, Mr. Annim Yeboah, thanked the church and the Department of Social Welfare for the gesture. He appealed to the beneficiaries to take good care of the items to increase their life span.

Mr. Yeboah also appealed to the Department of Social Welfare to order motor wheel chairs to enable them to climb hills when the need arose. He assured the members of the District Assembly’s support to people with disabilities in the District. Mr. Anthony Agyemang of the Regional Office of the Social Welfare Department commended the members for forging together to fight for common goals. He asked them not to consider themselves as less privileged in society, but consider themselves as human beings who were capable of doing everything progressive.
