Photo-taking turnout at Aflao encouraging

Aflao (V/R), May 19, GNA – Turnout for the photo-taking exercise at Aflao in the Ketu district of the Volta region which began on Tuesday has been encouraging despite initial delays, registration officers and party agents have said.

However, the people are not too happy with what they termed the poor quality of some of the photographs and expressed the wish that they could be improved.

At the close of Tuesday, the first day of the exercise, some 333 people, out of 1,891 registered voters had their photographs taken at Aflaogatigorme centre, while 205 out 1,531 took their photos at the Timber Market. A total of 210 out of 900 went in for their photos at Modestus School and 178 out of 1,000 had theirs at Atilekope. Mr Mohammed Amuzu, a National Democratic Congress agent at the Timber Market centre, said the response was overwhelming, but was sceptical on whether the trend would continue throughout the exercise. The exercise got off two hours late on Tuesday and Wednesday due to the late arrival of cameramen.
