Pension rise for Veterans

Bolgatanga, May 17, GNA – Veterans are to get 50 percent rise in pension benefits, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the Veterans Association of Ghana (VAG), Ex-Warrant Officer (WO) Kutana Aryetey Mustapha-Kaderi announced at the weekend in Bolgatanga. Addressing a meeting of the Association’s regional branch, he said the increase was timely, “more so now that many pensioners were finding it hard to make ends meet.”

Ex-WO1 Mustapha-Kaderi said VAG had opted out of the Government Pensioners Association (GPA) to enable it deal directly with the Ministry of Defence.

He advised members who had not filled the VAG forms for the change over to do so to enable the Association to fight for their welfare. He called on the GPA to refund monies it owed VAG in dues deductions.
