PEF Director Satisfied With Government Private Sector Partnership

Koforidua (E/R), July 15, A three-day seminar on sourcing bank credit organized by the Private Enterprise Foundation (PEF) and sponsored by Hanns Seidel Foundation opened at Koforidua on Monday. The seminar, which is under the theme “Banking Procedures”, is being attended by 40 micro and small-scale entrepreneurs drawn from the Eastern, Greater-Accra and Volta regions. Mr. Kwasi Abeasi, Director-General of PEF, noted with satisfaction the partnership between the government and private sector which had made it possible for the growth of micro and small-scale enterprises in the country. He said the private sector, as the engine of growth of the country’s economy, needs to be encouraged and entrepreneurs educated to be able to achieve their desired goals. According to Mr. Abeasi, for the past two years, the private sector has seen improvements in its activities and hoped that such seminars would help equip and promote the sector. Mr. Johann Wagner, resident representative director of Hans Seidel Foundation, called for cordial relationship between the financial institutions and entrepreneurs for the promotion of the private sector.
