Patronage of parks and gardens is very low

Takoradi, Sept. 3, GNA – Mrs. Perpetual Adokoh, the Western Regional Director of Department of Parks and Gardens, has said the influx of private flower nurseries within the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis has resulted in the low patronage of their service. She told the GNA in an interview that lack of funds to engage in advertising had also contributed to the low patronage of the services of the department.

Mrs Adoko appealed to individuals and organisations to patronise their services as well as their garden for social gathering such as parties, engagements and weddings.

She said “wee” smokers had been frequenting the garden and that this was a major challenge since the garden is not fenced. Mrs. Adoko appealed to philanthropists, non governmental organisations and other institutions to assist in fencing the garden.
