Patrick Opoku is the Moderator of Swiss Asanteman

Bern-Switzerland,–Mr. Patrick Opoku of Swiss Asanteman Union has been elected as the Moderator of the forth-coming town hall meeting, on Saturday, 19th September, 2009.

Venue: Gemeinschaftszentrum, Bahnhofstrasse 4, 3075 Gumlingen opposite the Railway station.

Mr. Opoku was elected by five Swiss Ghana cultural Associations, including Swiss Gadangme Union. The other associations are the Lausanne Ghana Youth Organization, Ghana Asanteman Union, Ghana BESONEF and Swiss chapter of Kwahuman Europe organization.

The Town Hall meeting is jointly being organized by the associations and the Ghana Embassy in Switzerland. Nene Okletey of the Gadangme Union is the chairman of a special planning committee, charged with organizing the town hall meeting. Mrs. Ellen Serwaa Nee-Wang, Ghana’s Ambassador to Switzerland and also Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva will speak at the town hall meeting and respond to questions on Ghana’s development efforts. Informed sources close to the Embassy indicates that the program forms parts of the embassy’s open-door plan to acquit members of the community with government policies and urged Ghanaians to attend the meeting.
