Pastor defiles 14-year-old pupil

Sunyani, July 22, GNA- A Sunyani Circuit Court on Wednesday remanded Pastor Abraham Sarkodie of Christian Prayer Centre at Dumasua, near Sunyani for defiling a 14-year-old pupil.

The pastor, 40, pleaded not guilty and will reappear on August 20. Prosecuting, Deputy Superintendent of Police Alex Yartey Tawiah told the court that the accused was well known to the father of the victim, Mr. Yaw Badu.

He said sometime in October last year, Mr. Badu sent the daughter, who is alleged to have a mental problem to the pastor’s prayer camp for assistance.

The accused asked the girl’s father to allow her to stay with him as her sickness needed constant prayers and the father obliged. DSP Tawiah said some few months later the pastor’s wife travelled to Nkoranza to give birth so the pastor moved the victim to stay with him in his house.

Whilst with him the pastor had sex with her on several occasions and when the girl later fell sick, she told her father and the matter reported to WAJU in Sunyani.
