Partisan politics will destroy Bawumia – Pratt

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper Kwesi Pratt Junior has observed that the running mate of the New Patriotic Party Dr Mahamudu Bawumia risks being destroyed by partisan politics.

According to him, the former governor of the Central bank keeps using stale and discredited economic data for his critic of the Mahama administration.

His comments come on the back of Dr Bawumia’s citing of the recent controversial Transparency International report, which in part, created the impression that Ghana is the second most corrupt country in Africa.

Speaking on ‘Alhaji and Alhaji’ on Radio Gold Saturday, Mr. Pratt advised the NPP running mate to be weary of his public utterances.

“I feel sad for our compatriot and brother Bawumia, if he is not careful partisan politics will destroy him, he is not bringing anything new to the table but the same old data and recycled information and that is very worrying for a young man who rose to become the deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana,” he stated.

Pratt also urged members and leaders of the NPP to exercise their right to comment on national issues with responsibility and also desist from deliberate distortions of facts.
