Part of rehabilitated Koforidua Hospital handed over

A Spanish construction company, IBEDESA, engaged in the rehabilitation and refurbishing of part of the Koforidua Regional Hospital, has handed over part of the project to the hospital administration.

The rehabilitation, started in 1998, was expected to be completed in two years but had been delayed.

Handed over to the hospital were the Official; Children; Gynaecology and Obstetrics wards.

Nene Osrama 1V, representative of the Co-ordinating Consultant of the project, Intecbuild, said the contractors would hand over the Mortuary, Laundry and the Kitchen to the hospital on March 31. The rest would be handed over by the end of July.

Mr Samuel Ashiboi Akrong, the Hospital Administrator, said the wards had now been fitted with oxygen producing machines that could produce oxygen for the hospital.

The Gynaecology Wards now have delivery tables that could be used as operation tables when complications developed during delivery.
