Parliament convenes second sitting on January 21

Accra, Jan.20, GNA – Parliament would convene its second sitting for the Fourth Session of the Third Parliament of the Fourth Republic on Wednesday, January 21 at 1000 prompt.

A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday signed by Mr Kenneth Tachie, Clerk of Parliament, said the sitting was to consider a request by President John Agyekum Kufuor for the extension of the State of Emergency in the Tamale municipality and Yendi district in the Northern region.

It said the public forum ” Parliament in Retrospect,” which was originally scheduled for 1000 at the National Theatre has been shifted to 1200 to be preceded by a photo exhibition at 1130 at the same venue. The statement appealed to Members of Parliamentarians to take not of the arrangements and attend the House on schedule.
