The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has ordered the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) to recover all outstanding monies owed by institutions within 30 days.
The Chairperson of the Committee, Abena Osei-Asare, described the deadline as non-negotiable as the PAC continued its public hearing into selected 2025 Auditor-General’s reports.

The organisations under review include Ghana Olympics House, the Rent Control Department, CWSA, TDC Ghana Limited, Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL), State Housing Company Limited, the Water Resources Commission, Ghana Water Limited and Sea Defence.
The Committee’s directive followed its consideration of debts owed to CWSA by various institutions. The agency has been instructed to take steps to recover the money and report evidence of the action taken within the specified 30-day period.
PAC members also raised concerns about the quality of water supplied, including high levels of iron. They questioned the condition of water storage facilities and the state of ageing water infrastructure.
The Committee further stressed the need for Sea Defence to prepare a coastal line management plan. It said the plan was necessary to support the smooth construction of the sea defence wall.
Officials from the institutions under scrutiny were urged to address the concerns identified during the hearing and provide evidence that corrective measures had been implemented.
