Owusu Ankomah not perturbed

Jasikan, Sept 19, GNA – Papa Owusu-Ankomah, vying for election as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate in the 2008 elections, has said the sheer numbers of aspirants did not perturb him. He told journalists at the end of his campaign tour of the Volta Region that he was the most worthy of the aspirants and would carry the day.

Papa Owusu-Ankomah, who met NPP executives from the Akan, Buem and Biakoye constituencies at Jasikan, promised to bridge the gap between the party and government.

He said he would transform the party by making it financially stronger to lead the way in politics in Ghana for many years. Papa Owusu-Ankomah said he had the capacity to increase the pace of economic and social progress attained under President John Agyekum Kufuor.

He said youth policy under his presidency would place premium on giving skills to young people.
